Starting the morning after Halloween, kids can bring in candy to any of The Super Dentist’s six offices and exchange it for cash. Through this program, kids receive $1 for each pound of candy they bring in. The Super Dentists will then donate thousands of pounds of candy they collected to active-duty service members to enjoy.

“We love using this time to celebrate with our super patients and thank them and the community,” Dr. Kami Hoss, co-founder & CEO of The Super Dentists, said. “We’ve created a safe place to get healthy treats, have costume contests, giveaway prizes, and more.”

Hoss said although Halloween is a fun holiday, “no one needs that much candy.”

“Our candy buy-back is a great way to lower our patients’ sugar intake around this holiday – mostly, centered around candy,” he said. “After all, our goal is to help kids, and parents too, understand the importance of good oral health care.”

Since 2004, The Super Dentists has collected more than 20,000 pounds of candy, saving the mouths of San Diego’s children from countless cavities. The Super Dentists are passionate about educating parents about dental care, oral health and whole-person healthcare, and integrated dental and medical care.
