Firefighters took less than an hour to stop a brush fire that burned about three acres near the border Saturday.

CalFire tweeted at 6:20 p.m. that firefighters were responding to a vegetation fire north of a border road east of Otay Mesa. The blaze burned in five different places with a slow rate of spread in light fuels.

At 7:05 p.m., officials said that the fire’s forward rate of progress had been halted. They predicted it would take three to four hours for mop up.
