The initiative, organized by the non-profit trade associations, Bay Area Brewers Guild and the California Craft Brewers Association, also includes brewers guilds from the Central Coast, Los Angeles County, Orange County, Sacramento Area and Inland Empire.
The event includes dozens of tastings and other activities, among them a wave of California collaboration beers from breweries across the state.
Craft Beer Week covers two weekends, continuing through July 24.
Make it a beery road trip and hit events throughout the state or focus on San Diego. Here are a few local highlights:
- Thorn Brewing – release of Apricot Fruited Hazy IPA; locations in Barrio Logan, North Park, Mission Hills.
- Bay City Brewing – hosts Hot Pup Summer Happy Hour at Point Loma site, 3 p.m. Saturday.
- Eppig Brewing – part of the 10 a.m. July 23 Waterfront Yoga + Beer class at Shelter Island. Admission, $20, which includes one pint of brew.
