There were no tickets sold with all six numbers in Saturday’s drawing of the multi-state Powerball lottery so the jackpot for Monday’s drawing is expected to grow to $401 million.
Another multi-state lottery California residents can play, Mega Millions, also has an eye-popping current jackpot. After there were no winners Friday, the award grew to $445 million ahead of Monday’s drawing.
There was one ticket sold with five numbers, but missing the Powerball number, the Multi-State Lottery Association, which conducts the game, announced.
It was sold in New York and is worth $1 million.
The Powerball numbers drawn Saturday were 3, 43, 53, 60, 68 and the Powerball number was 5. The jackpot was $378 million.
The drawing was the 28th since a ticket with all six numbers was sold.
The odds of matching all five numbers and the Powerball number is 1 in about 293 million, according to lottery officials. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 24.87.
The Powerball game is played in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
