Mercedes-Benz launches the new 2023 B-Class Facelift. It is the swan song of the compact minivan that is fighting BMW’s 2 Series Active Tourer. The premium car maker will ditch the model that has been losing ground in a world in which SUV make the game rules.

The facelift brings subtle changes on the new B-Class. There are minor mods on the front fascia. The list includes a redesigned front bumper and radiator grille, flanked by new LED headlights.

At the opposite end, Mercedes put in new two-part LED taillights and subtle black side aero spoilers on both sides of the rear window.

Mercedes now offers ten metallic paint options and four new wheel designs, with 19-inch wheels on the menu.

The future owner will find a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment display as standard. Extra money bring the 10.25-inch digital cluster. There is a new flat-bottom steering wheel in there and the display’s rotary controller has vanished from the center console. Meanwhile, there MBU (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) system now integrates a new fingerprint sensor.

Standard equipment also includes seats with center sections made 100% of recycled materials. For the first time, the AMG Line brings the heated steering wheel.

The engine lineup has undergone changes as well. All petrol versions are now electrified, including a 48-volt mild-hybrid system with a belt-driven starter-generator. the plug-in hybrids of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz B-Class have received an improved high-voltage battery pack, with the ability to charge with alternating current at up to 11 kW instead of the former 7.4 kW figure.

Once plugged to a DC charger, the B-Class can eat up to 22 kW. That would take about 25 minutes for the battery to charge from 10 to 80%. Meanwhile, the electric motor delivers 80 kW instead of 75, just like the A 250 e version in the A-Class lineup.
